New Vogue Lessons: Where to Start
If you're new to New Vogue, or you know a few sequence dances and want a clear path, this page is for you. I've put my New Vogue routines in a simple learning order, one dance per step: the entry-level Merrilyn first, then the Swing Waltz, Carousel and Tango Terrific, and finally the more advanced Lucille Waltz. Work through them in order, and come back to any step whenever you need it.
Step 1 · Entry level
Merrilyn New Vogue Routine
One of the entry-level New Vogue sequence dances and one of the most popular at Australian social dances, built from Walks, Swivels, Chassés, an Aerial, a Breakaway and the Rotary Chassé.

New Vogue Routine: Swing Waltz
A challenging but ever popular sequence dance built around Aerials, Chassés, a Spiral Turn and Reverse Turns, where the hardest part is the Aerials and their footwork: heel, toe, heel.

Carousel New Vogue Routine: Basic and Advanced
A New Vogue sequence dance to Slow Foxtrot music that borrows steps from the Ballroom dances, with a basic and an advanced demonstration, every figure named and the timing in slows and quicks.
Watch the lessonStep 4 · Intermediate and above
Tango Terrific New Vogue Routine
A sequence dance inspired by International style Tango and popular with intermediate dancers and above, where the key is staccato rhythm: stop and start, nice and sharp.
Watch the lessonStep 5 · More advanced
Lucille Waltz New Vogue Routine
A more advanced New Vogue sequence dance in waltz time: we dance it in full, then I go through the figure names and the timing and finish with my tips, and you're welcome to copy the styling and arms.
